Apple Blossom Frosting
A sweet and refreshing frosting. Try it on a spice cake or chocolate cupcakes.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Winesap apple, try it with a Honeycrisp or SweeTango
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 cup sugar
2 egg whites
2-3 drops of red food coloring (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Peel apple and grate very fine.
Add lemon juice, sugar, and egg whites.
Beat with electric mixer at high speed (10-12 minutes) until stiff and will stand in peaks.
Add a few drops of red coloring to tint frosting a very pale pink.
